Verification engine
How WorkTag computes clearance
WorkTag uses a rule-based, fully auditable verification engine. Every credential passes through a structured verification loop. Every clearance decision is deterministic — same inputs produce the same result, with a full breakdown of why.
Verification tiers
Not all credentials are equal
WorkTag distinguishes credential strength by verification depth. Stronger verification carries more weight in the clearance assessment.
Clearance levels
Status reflects credential strength
Not Eligible
—
Required credentials missing or expired
Conditional
—
Some credentials expiring or pending review
Eligible
—
All required credentials valid and current
Verified
—
Reserved for registry-confirmed credentials (not yet available)
Flagged
—
Active fraud signal
Fraud resistance
Built to resist manipulation
The system detects fraud patterns structurally. No ML — deterministic rules with defined thresholds.
Forged documents
Every credential is reviewed by admin before approval. AI extraction flags inconsistencies automatically.
Expired credentials
Expiry dates are tracked continuously. Clearance status updates automatically when a credential lapses.
Duplicate submissions
The system detects duplicate credentials across workers and flags them for review.
Submission velocity abuse
Unusually fast credential uploads trigger an anomaly signal for admin review.
Altered documents
AI extraction cross-checks fields against the original file. Mismatches are flagged.
Registry discrepancies
No registry check is live today. When one exists, credential details will be compared against the authoritative source.
How this supports site clearance
The verification engine feeds directly into site clearance decisions. When a worker shares their clearance link, the employer sees a status — Eligible, Conditional, or Not Eligible — backed by the verification data described above.
✓Credential verification strength determines clearance confidence
✓Fraud signals automatically block clearance until resolved
✓Every clearance decision links back to auditable verification records
